**Special Containment Procedures:**  SCP-9494 is to be reinforced with tungsten beams measuring 20km long in order to maintain its structural integrity. A 500km perimeter radius is to be maintained to prevent any individuals from approaching SCP-9494 via land or air. Reconstruction of SCP-9494's structure is currently awaiting for authorization.

**Description:** SCP-9494 is a monument situated in the Gobi Desert, China. Although there is no historical records pertaining to SCP-9494's construction, it claims to have been a statesman during the reign of Qin Shi Huang[[footnote]] Founder of The Qin Dynasty, the first emperor to rule and unite China in the year around 221–210 BCE. [[/footnote]]. It is currently only possible to access the first four floors of SCP-9494, as all other levels have been rendered inaccessible due its current changing nature. Current estimated size of SCP-9494 is 12km x 12km x --75km-- --90km-- 150km

SCP-9494 is only capable of communicating through telepathy with one singular individual through who enters its interior, using archaic Chinese; if more than one person is present, establishing communication will not be possible [[footnote]] See Exploration Log-9494. [[/footnote]].

SCP-9494's primary ability is its ability to self-disassemble and reassemble itself through telekinetic means, increasing its vertical height during each reconstruction event. SCP-9494 claims that this reordering is in an effort to allow itself "to reach the Heavens". During reconstruction, SCP-9494 detaches a rectangular-shaped segment of itself measuring approximately 12km x 4km x 3km, which it then places at the uppermost point of its structure.

**Discovery:** On 4/4/1988, seismic activity was reported with magnitudes reaching 7.2 on the Moment Magnitude Scale, in the Gobi Desert, China, leading to the discovery of SCP-9494 which has risen from the ground up. Foundation operatives promptly isolated SCP-9494. Nearby civillians were amnesticized and evacuated with a cover story of environmental deterioration due to overmining and overuse of groundwater. A nearby temporary site, Site-9494-66, was established to operate as a base for testing.

**Addendum-9494-1:** MTF Chi-55 "BlockBusters", which specialises in archaeology, was subsequently assigned to investigate SCP-9494's interior. Following the exploration, Researcher Mo Yanhui[[footnote]] 莫言會。 [[/footnote]] has been assigned to become a translator to interview with SCP-9494 by Site Director Xin Anfu[[footnote]] 信安福。 [[/footnote]].

**WOBBLE:** Guys, please don't look up at the tower, be careful of the big cracks.

//TOPPLE gestures his hands, pointing to his camera.//

**TOPPLE:** Anyone got their cameras checked?

**TENSION:** Roger.

**ANCHOR:** Affirmative.

**WOBBLE:** All clear.

**COMMAND:** All connection has been established, please proceed to enter SCP-9494 with caution.

**TOPPLE:** Alright then, be aware for any seismic activities from this... Monolith. We don't know what it's trying to do next.

//TOPPLE can be seen approaching entrance of SCP-9494, opening it slowly and revealing a pitch black room. He turns on his flashlight revealing the proximity. Team members follow closely behind, watching from his back.//

**TOPPLE:** It's dark, I need more than one person to get in here and cover some blind spots, get ready to move in with your flashlights on.

//TOPPLE enters inside SCP-9494, ducking down as he passes through it. After stepping both of his feet inside SCP-9494, He flinches slightly and pauses, raising his fist.//

**ANCHOR:** Captain, what's wrong?

**TOPPLE:** You guys hear that?

**WOBBLE:** Negative, nothing to hear.

//TENSION swivels his head.//

**TENSION:** Nope, I didn't hear anything.

**COMMAND:** What are you hearing?

**TOPPLE:** It's trying to tell me something... but I just can't make out anything at all.

**COMMAND:** Affirmative, report any harmful abnormalities and proceed with caution.

//TOPPLE gives an alert look around SCP-9494 scanning his surrounding while the rest of the team is on lookout. He signals the rest of the team to follow in. TOPPLE gives a confused look, touching his helmet.//

**TOPPLE:** Weird… I don't seem to hear it anymore… Anyone else hear something in their head? If not, then we'll proceed further. Scan the area effectively.

**TOPPLE:** That light wasn't there when we previously came here. Proceed immediately everyone!

**TENSION:** Not the time to joke WOBBLE, But I may have to point out the obvious; it seems that our path is cut off. The sunset is nice from up here though.

//TENSION tilts his camera up to capture a hole leading to the next floor of SCP-9494.//

**ANCHOR:** So that's it? Are we gonna fly over there then climb up?

//WOBBLE runs towards the edge and tilts his camera upward, catching a massive floating rectangular object.//

**WOBBLE:** Team, you might want to look up from here.

**ANCHOR:** What the fuck. When I said fly over there, I didn't mean that.

**COMMAND** This is dangerous, everyone evacuate quickly before anyone gets injured, I will call an emergency helicopter on your way if possible.

You speak of a new emperor from the mention of these "higher-ups", do you truly believe one will come? **Yanhui:** No, we don't have emperors in this day and age. From what I can gather from your descriptions, these four individuals are part of our group, under the same higher-up as myself. We've... Evolved in many ways to become what we are now as a better... "Dynasty" if you will. And no, we're not invaded by the "northern riders". Though, from what we have studied from that throne, it seems that you have been "waiting" for a new emperor for nearly 2200 years...

**SCP-9494:** You have returned. Though I cannot accept the state I am in, I still crave a presence inside me to ease this weight upon my heart...

**Yanhui:** Haha... well, it's alright to face some realities by yourself, I even had the same experience when I was still... an adolescent.

**SCP-9494:** Speak plainly, what did you mean when you last spoke about the Heavens that are not real? I confess, I turned aside from that question...

**Yanhui:** Well, how am I supposed to tell this to you... Basically, we have built devices that can break through the skies, it transmits messages back to report on new discoveries. Although there is no such thing as Heaven but an infinite space of different stars that is yet to be reached.
