You stare at the television screen. She doesn't know you, but you know her. You told yourself last time would be the **last** time, yet you're here again.

How many times is it now? You gave up counting early on. 

How many lost friends lost to obsession? You gave up counting that early on too.

How many nights' sleeps have you been torn out of by images of her mangled body screaming, as the knife is raised in climax? How many hours spent comparing her face to missing persons? How many days without washing, with the curtains drawn, huddled in front of an old VHS machine?

How many failures? Too many to count. How many successes? Too few to be countable.

> "Hey, please - I need your help. What should I do?"

The weight of all the failed efforts, all your failures, *you* being the failure, bears down upon you. There's nothing you can do. Nothing. Try as you might, things will never change no matter how hard you will them to. 

Yet still, you childishly cling to the hopeless hope that one day things will be easier. You know they never will be.
