**Special Containment Procedures:** SCP-8548-1 and SCP-8548-2 are to be contained in a standard anomalous animal containment unit. Under no circumstances should either anomaly be allowed any form of interaction unless permitted by personnel with level 4 or higher clearance.

During any interaction between SCP-8548-1 and SCP-8548-2, any nearby researchers are to monitor the surrounding area for signs of potential threats. Nearby guards are to implement preventive measures in case of any serious threat to Foundation personnel or equipment.

As of the current moment, all staff assigned to SCP-8548 are required to report on any changes to the relationship between SCP-8548-1 and SCP-8548-2, as well as help minimize any conflicts between either anomaly.

**Description:** SCP-8548 refers to a probabilistic anomaly that manifests when SCP-8548-1 and SCP-8548-2 interact with one another. Whenever both entities are placed directly in front of each other and begin to act aggressively towards one another, it causes several probabilistic errors to occur.

Any object or event within the radius of SCP-8548 will result in undesirable outcomes, such as some form of destruction or otherwise catastrophe.

Though the nature of SCP-8548 has caused several failures at Site-225, SCP-8548-1 and SCP-8548-2 are unable to be physically separated from one another. Any attempt to separate SCP-8548-1 and SCP-8548-2 for longer than 2 and a half hours will result in both anomalies causing SCP-8548 to occur within a 50 meter radius of where both anomalies are located.

SCP-8548 will not occur until several minutes[[footnote]]Typically five or more.[[/footnote]] of arguing between SCP-8548-1 and SCP-8548-2, in which both anomalies lose their ability of speech and resort to the common noises[[footnote]]Barking and meowing.[[/footnote]] of their respective species.

SCP-8548-1 refers to a sapient male black cat (Felis Catus) with the ability of speech. SCP-8548-1 has shown to be hostile to most staff members at Site-225 and is commonly described as having sarcastic and aggressive tendencies, as well as being generally antisocial.

SCP-8548-2 refers to a sapient male Golden Retriever (Canis Lupus Familiaris) with the ability of speech. SCP-8548-2 is commonly regarded as “playful and friendly” towards staff members at Site-225 and rarely exhibits any aggressive behavior except when it comes into contact with SCP-8548-1.

Both anomalies have described each other negatively and are resistant to any attempt to influence their relationship.

**SCP-8548-1:** No. It's not my fault most people suck.

**Dr. Reschell:** Hmm... Well, that’s okay. It’ll just be the two of us in here regardless.

//SCP-8548-1 is silent as it glances around the room before speaking.//

**SCP-8548-1:** Hey... speaking of which, why am I here? You people kidnap me off the streets and now you’re trying to play nice? What’s up with that?

**Dr. Reschell:** Well, we can’t have anomalies just wandering the streets. Your anomalous capabilities are far too strong to ignore.

**Dr. Reschell:** Ignoring the obvious, there's the fact that whenever you and SCP-8548-2 argue, disasters frequently occur.

**Dr. Reschell:** Which is why I’m here to help you with amending your relationship with SCP-8548-2.

**Dr. Reschell:** Of course, but it’s just standard policy to refer to anomalies with their designations to avoid any personal attachment.

**Dr. Reschell:** I didn’t mean it like that.

**SCP-8548-1:** Uh-huh.

**Dr. Reschell:** Well, I don’t think that’s true. We just need to get to the bottom of your hostility. Is there anything specific that you dislike about SCP-8548-2?

**COMMENTS:** I believe that SCP-8548-1 is in desperate need of behavioral therapy from an Anomalous Animal Therapist to be able to better understand how to interact with SCP-8548-2 and any other anomalies or staff members. After this interview, SCP-8548-1 was given behavioral therapy from Anomalous Animal Therapist Bryan Ellison, which appeared to be largely ineffective in treating and helping SCP-8548-1 learn compassion and kindness.

After several weeks of attempted treatment, the procedure was discontinued.

**SCP-8548-1:** Okay. And? Maybe I want to be left alone.

**Dr. Ellison:** There’s nothing wrong with being left alone. I’m just saying that, eventually, you’ll need to be able to interact with others. You’ll especially need to interact safely with SCP-8548-2.

**SCP-8548-1:** Yeah, sure, and then once I do that, we’ll all hold hands and sing songs around the campfire, right?

**Dr. Ellison:** Your sarcasm is also a part of the issue. There’s really no need to always be so on edge. We’re here to help you, you know?

After multiple failed attempts to get both anomalies to get along, the project was deemed a failure and was to be abandoned as researchers studied alternative ways to prevent SCP-8548 from occurring.

//SCP-8548-1 quickly turns around and starts to head back in the direction it came from.//

//SCP-8548-1 then proceeds to run face first into a wall, stunning it and knocking it down to the floor as more debris falls around it.//

//Before SCP-8548-1 can finish its sentence, a piece of debris falls and is aimed to hit SCP-8548-1.//

**SCP-8548-2:** LOOK OUT!

//Just before the debris makes contact with SCP-8548-1, SCP-8548-2 jumps in the way, pushing SCP-8548-1 away as the debris falls and knocks them both away.//

//Neither anomalies move for a few moments until SCP-8548-1 groans awake as it appears disoriented. It looks over SCP-8548-2, who appears unresponsive. SCP-8548-1’s eyes widen as it rushes over to it.//

**SCP-8548-1:** What the… The fuck did you do that for?! I didn’t need you to save me, you dumbass!

//SCP-8548-1 appears to wait for a response, but SCP-8548-2 does not respond.//

**SCP-8548-1:** What? Don’t tell me you died from something like that. I’ve seen you survive much scarier shit. I know you’re gonna get up any second now.

//SCP-8548-2 does not respond.//

**SCP-8548-1:** Oh, don’t tell me this is what kills you. Seriously? Jesus Christ, of course you die in such a pathetic way.

//There is no response from SCP-8548-2. SCP-8548-1 does not attempt communication for a few moments as it stares at SCP-8548-2.//

**SCP-8548-1:** Oh, you’re actually…

//SCP-8548-1 is silent for a moment.//

**SCP-8548-1:** …Pfft. Fine then. Actually, this is great! I’m finally rid of your annoying ass. Fuck you! I hope you’re eating shit in hell.

//SCP-8548-1 turns around and starts to head towards the exit, occasionally turning back to look at SCP-8548-2 who still has not moved from its spot.//

//Just before turning to the next hallway, SCP-8548-1 sighs loudly before turning around quickly to run towards SCP-8548-2, noticing that it’s still breathing and biting it on its neck, slowly beginning to drag it away as it mutters something.//

**SCP-8548-1:** You’re such a fucking moron and an asshole, you know that, Max? How dare you save me and then go ahead and almost die for me? I didn’t ask you to do that but like always, you never listen to me.

**SCP-8548-1:** You’re such a dick because I know you won’t die from this and yet you’re making me feel like you are anyway.

//SCP-8548-1 continues to drag SCP-8548-2 across the ruined site as SCP-8548-2’s eyes begin to flutter.//

**SCP-8548-2:** Her…schel?

**SCP-8548-1:** Shut up before I kill you myself.

//SCP-8548-2 attempts vocalization but quickly closes its mouth as it fades back into unconsciousness. SCP-8548-1 continues to grumble as it drags SCP-8548-2 to safety.//

**SCP-8548-1:** Knew it. Such an asshole. Trying to go out as a dumb hero. You can’t die yet.

//SCP-8548-2 drags SCP-8548-1 into a nearby storage closet and shuts the door. SCP-8548-1 sighs as it watches SCP-8548-2’s breathing stabilize before curling up besides it.//

//SCP-8548-1 closes its eyes and lays besides SCP-8548-2 for several minutes until the breach has been contained and site personnel discover the two.//

After this incident, SCP-8548-2 was transported to a medical ward for treatment as SCP-8548-1 was relocated back to its containment chamber. Despite the severity of the containment breach, SCP-8548-2 was found to have suffered no significant injuries and was expected to make a full recovery.

**Dr. Reschell:** Alright. Just a few minor injuries and a bit of bruising. You should be back to your feet in a few days.

**SCP-8548-2:** Yay!

**SCP-8548-1:** Damn, and here I was hoping you would tell him that he would drop dead in five minutes.

**SCP-8548-2:** Err, you’re lucky I can’t move right now or else you would be-

//SCP-8548-2 wags it tail happily as Dr. Reschell and SCP-8548-1 exit the room. As they walk down the hallway, Dr. Reschell has a noticeable grin on her face, catching the attention of SCP-8548-1.//

**SCP-8548-1:** The fuck got you so giddy?

**Dr. Reschell:** You two held a conversation for longer than five minutes and no disasters occurred.

**SCP-8548-1:** Oh, great. So our, uh, anomaly is over now? So can I leave?

**Dr. Reschell:** You two are still talking animals.

**SCP-8548-1:** Touché.

**Dr. Reschell:** Well, despite the unfortunate containment breach we experienced, I think this was a great bonding moment for you two. It appears your relationship has changed for the better.

//SCP-8548-1 scoffs.//

**SCP-8548-1:** Changed? Pfft. How dumb can you get? Nothing’s changed between us. I think you’re just making shit up when there’s nothing there.

//SCP-8548-1 turns back to look at SCP-8548-2’s room before shaking its head.//
