include :scp-wiki:theme:black-highlighter-theme Thirty-seven hours ago, Calvary Base reported the unexpected reappearance of Team Omega, a unit previously declared as missing after their failure to return from a surface operation within the allotted one-hour window. The team’s sudden return after 2 weeks of being declared MIA was deemed highly suspicious. Upon arrival, all personnel were given a medical evaluation and kept within a quarantine suite. The preliminary medical assessment demonstrated no outward signs of anomalous modification or influence, aside from general malnourishment, dehydration and first to second-degree frostbite injuries among the team. ----- div class="blockquote" **<Begin Log>** **FOB Director Huxley:** What happened out there?. **Omega Lead:** We overstayed. **FOB Director Huxley:** That’s not an answer. **Omega Lead:** That snow. It wasn’t natural. We were being boxed in. Brought to where it wanted us. Mall. No sublevels. No access to transit tunnels. Glass roof. Wide halls. Perfect trap. **FOB Director Huxley:** You failed to return within the one-hour limit. **Omega Lead:** With all due respect, we never lost track of time sir. Time just stopped mattering. **FOB Director Huxley:** Your suits? **Omega Lead:** Dead by the end of day one. **FOB Director Huxley:** Then how’d you stay warm? **Omega Lead:** We burned everything. Benches. Directory boards. Insulation. Couple of guys couldn’t take the cold. One guy lit himself on fire just to try and feel something. **FOB Director Huxley:** Yet you survived fourteen days. **Omega Lead:** Barely. **FOB Director Huxley:** Food? **Omega Lead:** Rationed. One meal every other day. Sometimes less. The hunger made us forget we were freezing our asses off. **FOB Director Huxley:** Water. //Omega Lead suddenly freezes// **Omega Lead:** That… That was where we made a grave mistake. **FOB Director Huxley:** Clarify. **Omega Lead:** We ran out on day four. There was only snow. Couldn’t tell if it was real or… the other stuff. **FOB Director Huxley:** What did you do. **Omega Lead:** We boiled it. And prayed to God we made the right decision. **FOB Director Huxley:** Did you? **Omega Lead:** It turned to liquid. I think we did. **FOB Director Huxley:** I’m not convinced. //Omega Lead twitches unnaturally. Live feed from the quarantine suite demonstrates the remainder of Omega Team mirroring the same motion.// **Omega Lead:** She didn’t like to hear that. **FOB Director Huxley:** Who? **Omega Lead:** Janice. //Omega Lead collapses forward. Frost spreads rapidly from their mouth across the metal table. Their jaw begins to chatter violently despite no visible breathing. Their eyes begin to slowly roll back.// **Omega Lead:** She was so proud of her performance. Yet you deny her of her freedom. **FOB Director Huxley:** Fuck. Security! Now! Breach protocol! Move! //The camera is struck and falls sideways as FOB Director Huxley evacuates the room. Visual feed tilts. On the edge of the frame, snow begins expanding. An alarm can be heard blaring distantly before the feed cuts out.// **<End Log>** /div Subsequently, all communication with Calvary Base was lost. While response coordination was underway, PERMAFROST assets stationed at Longueuil reported the unscheduled arrival of a train originating from Calvary Base. All on-site personnel were ordered to secure the platform, monitor the incoming train, and were issued explicit authorization for immediate termination of any emerging hostiles. ----- div class="blockquote" **MTF Nu-7 “Hammer Down” Operative Bishop:** Stack up on me. Keep rifles trained forward. We clear each car methodically. No rushing this. **PENTAGRAM Fireteam Kilo-12 “Lockjaw” Operative Vise:** Roger that. Kilo-12, tighten spacing. Watch the floors, walls and ceiling. //Teams begins move along the train, clearing railcars sequentially// align=center|width=100%|caption=Still frame from CCTV footage. **PENTAGRAM Fireteam Kilo-12 Operative Deadbolt:** Is it just me or does this train feel… too clean? Didn’t Command say Calvary got chewed to pieces? **MTF Nu-7 Operative Vanguard:** Starting to agree with you Bolt, something does feel off. Either this thing was gift-wrapped for us… or we’re already late to the party. Better get those weapons ready. //The team arrives at the final car when suddenly a group of survivors stumble out, raising their hands out of fear// **MTF Nu-7 Operative Bishop:** Woah there - stop moving. Identify yourselves. **Survivor 1:** You gotta help us, please. We were the only few who managed to make it out. **MTF Nu-7 Operative Bishop:** You’ll identify yourself first. //Pause. Survivor 1 blinks slowly. The team exchanges glances// **Survivor 1:** Yes of course, I am… Michael Pierce. Foundation Researcher. //PENTAGRAM Operative Deadbolt stares closely at Survivor 1, reading the ID patch found on their uniform.// **PENTAGRAM Fireteam Kilo-12 Operative Deadbolt:** Then why does it say “Dr. Elena Maher” on your uniform? //Another pause. Before the first survivor could respond, a second individual steps forward.// **Survivor 2:** He’s confused, in shock. It happens. //The second survivor attempts to grin but it appears unnaturally forced.// **MTF Nu-7 Operative Vanguard:** Bishop… something’s not right… **MTF Nu-7 Operative Bishop:** Starting to agree with you there Van- Oh shit. Move- //A large concentration of SCP-9198, which had been hiding in the undercarriage of the train, surges upwards and engulfs Vanguard.// **MTF Nu-7 Operative Bishop:** Contact! We’re compromised! Fall back, now! //The team retreats while firing into the mass to no effect. The “survivors” begin following at a slow, deliberate pace. Their skin sloughs off in sheets, peeling away like wet wallpaper, revealing SCP-9198-1 beneath.// **PENTAGRAM Fireteam Kilo-12 Operative Vise:** New contacts! Bishop, we're gonna need backup, now! **MTF Nu-7 Operative Bishop:** Shit. Fall back to the upper platforms, I’m gonna get Command on the horn and get some spitters in here! //The team ascends the staircase into the station atrium. Echoing noises can be heard reverberating from down below.// **PENTAGRAM Fireteam Kilo-12 Operative Vise:** Don’t tell me… **MTF Nu-7 Operative Bishop:** …Is that music? //SCP-9198 can be heard producing vocalizations similar to the melody of “Daisy Bell,” which gradually increases in volume. The mass begins advancing up the stairs. Several operatives are overtaken and pulled into SCP-9198. Screams end abruptly, the singing grows louder.// //Ambient temperature drops rapidly. Ice begins forming across railings, walls, and equipment. Two operatives attempt to force exterior exit doors.// **MTF Nu-7 Operative Bishop:** Don’t open that door! If this thing gets out there, we lose everything. We must hold here. No matter what. **PENTAGRAM Fireteam Kilo-12 Operative Vise:** Our guns aren’t doing a damn thing! It’s almost at the atrium! //The remnants of the team, along with the “survivors,” now fully SCP-9198-1, begin climbing both stairways, surrounding the remaining personnel.// **SCP-9198-1:** //Daisy… Daisy…// **Operative Bishop:** Command- the snow has passed Longueuil. It’s smarter than we thought. We’re not gonna be able to hold here, it’s gonna go global- **[SIGNAL LOST]** /div Despite the combined efforts of PERMAFROST assets stationed off-island, SCP-9198 has been confirmed to have breached containment. K-Class containment protocols have been enacted in an attempt to curb its spread within Canada and, as a failsafe, across the entirety of the North American continent. Shortly after the breach, Foundation Intelligence intercepted an unidentified broadcast of unknown origin. Its purpose and relevance remain undetermined; however, the timing of the transmission is considered unlikely to be coincidental. div class="blockquote" "//...No loose ends. Fimbulwinter test is complete. All associated cells are to be dismantled. Let the Foundation choke on the cleanup…//" /div Recontainment is ongoing.
