**Description:** SCP-CN-3969 is a giant engineering and scientific research project started by the Foundation in the 1950s, CODE NAME: "##red|**PROJECT UDEM**##".

In the initial stage, when investigating SCP-CN-3969 in the normal way, the documents and data related to SCP-CN-3969 were found to have cognitive hazard or antimemetic effects. As an underground facility built in the early twentieth century, the designed life of SCP-2000 (1000 years) has been proven unattainable. At the most optimistic estimate made by the Yellowstone Project, SCP-2000 would be totally inoperable within 50 to 100 years. Even now, the function test on it has met some obstacles, the core subsystem Bright/Zartion Hominid Replicators have already failed to improve the accuracy of gene replication to 97%^^[39-40]^^. This summit aims to decide the methods to deal with the critical problems:

At 9:29 on June 30th, the payload docked into moon orbit and landed on the far side of the moon 30 minutes later. The monitoring satellite was detached when landing and changed orbit automatically. After landing, parts of the monitor devices detached automatically and retreated to the proposed position. At the same time, the -K prototype sent the "ALL CLEAR" signal, the test denotation would start after the satellite entered the explosion azimuth angle. To ensure the denotation won't be observed by astronomical telescopes, the denotation center was chosen at the center of the Giordano Bruno impact crater on the far side of the moon.

The detonation process was conducted entirely in accordance with the designed UDEM activation process. After the key/radioactive source carrier is integrated with the main structure of AN-███.1-K, the atomic bomb on the outer shell was successfully detonated, the deuterium and tritium fusion fuel was activated, successfully caused the chain reaction of heavy fusion fuel. Due to the desire to avoid ██████ effects from happening, the explosive yield of AN-███.1 had been reduced to 45%, but the detonation power still far beyond the estimated value. Later calculations show that four full-power (120% explosive yield) units of AN-███.1 is enough to cause ██████ effect, thus reducing the construction cost of the UDEM.

Within one-thousandth of a second after detonation, AN-███.1-K effectively created a supernova-like structure. Its high-energy radiation severely damaged the monitoring satellite that was operating over the far side of the Moon at that time. All equipment within a radius of 50 kilometers lost contact, and only the equipment that had retreated to 100 kilometers away transmitted sufficient observation data.

The Giordano Bruno impact crater lost its structural feature.

Within one-tenth of a second after detonation, a large amount of lunar rock was ejected along the tangential direction of the shock wave. The number of fragments exceeding the lunar escape velocity could not be estimated. A considerable number of these fragments flew out of the lunar umbra shadow zone and were thus observed by astronomical institutions outside the Veil. This incident was covered up by the Foundation using conventional means. The test explosion also triggered a high-intensity moonquake, which even allowed the Foundation to observe the startled reaction of SCP‑179.

Since the moon has no atmosphere, there was no shock wave, the destruction caused by the fireball is limited. Within several minutes after detonation, it transformed from bright white to red and then broke, its geological effects were limited to the far side of the Moon. Within the following year, nearly the entire Moon was covered by radioactive material that fell back to the lunar surface without reaching escape velocity. Areas with relatively high radioactivity did not drop to twice the background level until 1955.

Ok, I will use a more vivid way to describe the stellar nucleosynthesis. We all know that the sun is a giant nuclear reaction furnace, it releases energy by continously fusion hydrogen into helium. When the hydrogen burns out, the hellium with great masses will collapse by itself, the great pressure makes helium start to fuse. The reaction of helium releases less energy, and burns faster—at this point the life of the sun ended, its temperature will drop, the outer layer expands and the inner layer shrinks, eventually it will become a white dwarf that nobody knows. It has moved forward to the eighth element oxygen, then falls into silence.

But stars with greater masses have the capability to walk down this road. The carbon got squeezed together, crossed the coulomb barrier and became neon, neon became magnesium, magnesium became silicon, the heavier the element, the shorter the time it holds. Helium can burn for millions of years, but from silicon to iron would only take 14 days. Now we have moved forward to the twenty-sixth element on the periodic table.

The fusion reaction would cause a lot of free neutrons, the iron element would absorb these fast or slow neutrons and form heavier elements, this is the R/S process. For those stars with an enormous mass, near the end of their lives, the core structure collapses fast and shatters, eventually become a beautiful firework—a supernova. Under these extreme conditions, the R/S process makes us move forward to the heaviest element in nature: the ninety-second, uranium. Elements after that won't be left in any cases, they are too unstable, they would completely decay before the planet forms.

The project went smoothly. I think I can finally report some good news: Two UDEM devices have been completed in Qinghai and Nevada at the same time. I am doing some personal research these days—for this purpose I have to learn some new computer knowledge, you know that the technology used on AK9MKII is pretty advance. I have always hoped to make eschatology a more precise, strict subject, although I think, to some extent, UDEM shattered the wish. Of course, I don't mind sacrificing personal wishes for UDEM, since UDEM—— or SCP-CN-3969, it is the great work of eschatology.

Several months ago, the high-energy physics research facilities in Area-RU-21 took an important step in synthesizing superheavy elements. Briefly, the traditional superheavy element synthetic route is to use lighter elements to hit the pure target of another element in a great number, looking for the combination to synthesize superheavy elements under different physical conditions. This route will become harder as the atomic numbers rise. The extremely short half-life makes the detection of products a challenge.

Area-RU-21 addressed that, it is possible to create stable superheavy elements using a process similiar to stellar nucleosynthesis, the elements synthesized by this method are likely to bypass elements No.100~125, and directly synthesize the more stable Unbihexium (Ubh), the 126th element. Under high temperature and pressure situations, the R/S process using iron as seed nucleus will intesify, at a certain critical state, several iron atom may stimultaneously happen the S-process at extremely close distance, therefore generating stable superheavy atom.

The newly constructed Large Hadron Collider enabled Area-RU-21 to successfully create the extreme temperature environment required to verify this hypothesis. The iron‑californium target collision experiment produced an extreme temperature of 2.7 trillion Kelvin, and at least 1733 atoms of Element 126 were successfully detected. The most abundant isotope of this element has a half-life of 13,000 years and has been named Aeoniosium by the Foundation[[footnote]] originating from Greek "Αἰών"[[/footnote]]

The successful synthesis of Aeoniosium made the DoP realize the possibility of creating superheavy elements through a stellar-nucleosynthesis-like process. Previously, many theories considered that the end of the periodic table is determined by the stability of the atomic nucleus, some pessimistic theories even think it is impossible to reach elements after 126, the more optimistic ones think the element 160 is the extreme of the periodic table. After this experiment, the DoP reached the conclusion that the extreme for the conventional hit method is element 119, only by a stellar-nucleosynthesis-like process can synthesize stable elements in period 8.[[footnote]]The Aufbau principle thinks the period 8 elements should be No.119~168, but as the atomic number builds up, the electron distribution of period 8 elements would be very strange, such as preferentially filling the 8p1/2 subshell. Theoretically the last element of period 8 should be element 172.[[/footnote]]

But at this time, the barrier that prevents the synthesis of new elements is not the half-life, but the contradiction between relativity and quantum mechanics. To overcome the barrier of element 172 in period 8, we must face the following paradox.

Under atomic units, [[$ c ≈ 137 $]] (Which is the reciprocal of the fine-structure constant). So, for the elements after element 137(Usually called by Richard Feynman's name, Feynmanium), the Bohr model predicts that the velocity of their electrons on the 1s subshell would be faster than light, and their orbital radius is less than zero. Which is visibly absurd, but even if we consider the effect of the relativity and the radius of the atomic nucleus, the critical value can only be pushed to 173. After element 173, the velocity of electrons cannot drop below the speed of light, or the atom would collapse immediately. But the electron is a matter that carries information, the relativity won't allow that.

The stellar-nucleosynthesis-like process offered the possibility to directly verify this hypothesis: Approaching Element 173 and observing the physical properties of superheavy elements near it. New experiments were carried out immediately, after testing thousands of initial parameters, element 172 was successfully synthesized, but the observed data had abnormal values that were confusing. After highly complex reasoning, the researchers participated in reached the same conclusion: The synthetic process had produced traceable amount of element 173, and its superluminal electron partly "dragged", or "reversed" the spacetime around it.

The following inference remains highly advanced even by current standards: If the experiment is scaled up further and a large quantity of element 173 is produced, the strength and scope of this retroactive effect will grow exponentially. Eventually shows as macro, EPR-paradox like retrodeterminism. Element 173 actually caused a spacetime paradox, the history branch leads to the massive production of Element 173 would lose its coherence, so any observable history won't produce any Element 173.

So, a decoherent histories guiding system can be built up based on the effect, ensuring the stable trigger of the production of Element 173 at critical nodes, we can ensure history won't get to this node. So, by triggering decoherence on unwanted history branch, the system can guide the history to a intentioned direction.

This is called the Ultimate Anthropic Principle.

Although it has many technical issues, like the activation of decoherence needs a super accelerator approximating the circumference of the Earth, theoretically the decoherent histories guiding system is still has a high possibility to be implemented. The Department of Physics keenly recognized the dangers of this theory. So, the discussion documents, experimental data, and reports about the subject "Mortise-Tenon" were all sealed semi-permanently.

This element's inner layer electron has a velocity higher than the speed of light, so a decoherent effect was created. When a great amount of Element 173 exists at the same time, it is possible to decoherent the whole universe, in a macro view the universe returns to the time that without the production of Element 173, the history tree also returns to a branch that won't produce Element 173.

By controlling the production of Element 173, the decoherent histories guiding system can arbitrarily control the course of history. Due to this dangerous nature, this subject is sealed.

**Special Containment Procedures:** After parallel investigation it is considered that SCP-CN-3969 is a Thaumiel-class anomaly. MTF-CN-███, MTF-███/███ have already been ordered to enter the location of SCP-CN-3969-Thaumiel instance (aka the UDEM device, refer to the document below), protecting it from destruction and activation.

**Description:** SCP-CN-3969 is a megaproject directed by the Department of E.O.W in the fifties of the last century, the code name is 634. The final product of this project is "Ultimate Deus Ex Machina", which is SCP-CN-3969-Thaumiel. Its essence is a semi-automatic decoherence histories guiding system. The detailed anomalous nature of the item is described in the investigation report 3969-A.

Limited by its anomalous nature, in order to investigate the history of SCP-CN-3969, more than fifty foundation personnel were assigned to conduct a parallel investigation, and demanded the assistance artificially intelligent conscript Tidal.AIC to collect information simultaneously. However, Tidal.AIC was under malicious hijacking attacks during the investigation, this uncontrollable factor eventually led to the happening of Incident 3969-⨀.
