In the beginning, there was no normal. Instead of humans and monsters, existence was the sandbox of gods and Swanns, no land and sea, but magic and harmony and chaos, and all there was allowed to be. Eventually, like the children they were, the gods divided their precious sandbox. Who can say how much each god had to work with?

Alliances were formed and broken, land was stolen and retrieved, and for the beings who existed only in the sandbox, life was a pure hellish nightmare.

During an argument between the more powerful gods, a decision was made. "Instead of fighting //over// the sandbox," one [https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/church-of-the-broken-god-hub goddess] argued, "why not fight //in// the sandbox?" Thus was the creation of humanity and the numerous multiverses and alternative dimensions. Thus was the creation of space, time, light, and more.

To keep the peace, [[[scp-343|the most peaceful among them]]] was granted dominion over the entire sandbox. The only downside to such power was that he was forced to exist permanently within the sandbox and could not fight the same way the others could.

And so began the story of existence: infinite worlds, infinite tales, and infinite battle.

But the gods did not take the factor of humanity into proper account. The peaceful god planted a spark of divinity in every being, allowing the possibility, however slim, of apotheosis. And so, as the gods used humans for their battles, their wars, they were almost fully unaware of the creation of new gods. The gods of a new pantheon, destined to take on the primordials who use our world as a playground. In honor of their purpose, they shed the title of "gods." These beings are not gods.

They are called Archons. And no god stands a chance.
