Certain qualities of each accident were found to be identical with the show’s depiction of a collision in documented occurrences of SCP-248-EX, including: * Location * Time * Factors largely responsible for the collision * Models of select vehicles involved in the incident Research surrounding SCP-248-EX lasted from 2024/2/15 to 2026/8/22. Upon confirmation that the suspected anomaly was a false correlation, the phenomenon was granted -EX status. **Addendum.1.248-EX:** Series Overview //Crash Test Dolly!// is a 2024 Japanese anime television series produced and animated by //DOLLDRIVE// Studio. The series premiered on 2024/1/3, releasing a total of 13 episodes over two months. The protagonist, Dolly, is a female //moe anthropomorphic// representation of a crash test dummy, built by the secret research and development arm of an unnamed Japanese car manufacturer. In the setting’s exaggerated, comedic portrayal of the automotive industry, American car brands have entirely outpaced and outclassed Japanese manufacturers in every measurable aspect. After receiving a corporate memo that 100% of American citizens who own Japanese cars have been involved in motor collisions over the past 2 years, Dolly is sent to a research facility Atlanta, Georgia in order to gather real-time accident data by driving various Japanese cars on American roads. Due to her physical durability and capability to transfer her consciousness to other ‘test doll’ bodies, Dolly is encouraged to instigate these accidents herself. Meanwhile, her research director, Dr. Oku Harumi, takes overt erotic pleasure in witnessing these car accidents, an aspect Dolly remains naive towards. The series was considered a domestic success, and quickly found a niche, global audience among automotive enthusiasts and hobbyists for its high levels of accuracy in depictions of vehicles, roads, and driving conditions within the United States. Conversely, the show was widely criticized for its use of black comedy within the context of its subject matter. Its graphic depictions of collisions are often juxtaposed with Dolly’s sincere enjoyment of directly causing these accidents, a feeling she attributes to a utilitarian view of collecting important data in service of future safety. During and following the series’ airing, the Foundation was made aware of SCP-248-EX. Monitored discussion of //Crash Test Dolly//! indicated frequent discourse surrounding the apparent promotion of reckless driving and associated behaviors within the show. Relevant data showing a correlation between //Crash Test Dolly!// viewers and collisions outside of SCP-248-EX could not be produced, leading the Foundation to investigate potential anomalous causes of these replicated events. Select episode synopses of //Crash Test Dolly!// and their corresponding SCP-248-EX events have been included below. [[div class="blockquote"]] **Episode title:** //Crash Test Interstate!// **Synopsis:** Dolly drives a stretch of I-76 leading into Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, known as the Schuylkill Expressway, a road known for its congested conditions, frequent collisions, and left-side exit lanes. Dolly demonstrates the various accidents that can occur while driving on Interstate highways. A summary of Dolly’s showcased ‘hazardous behavior’ follows: * Cutting across up to 6 lanes at once without indicating * Plugging herself into the //OnStar// GPS accident detection service and falsifying collision reports * Using the median and shoulder of the road as ‘bonus’ lanes * Suddenly bringing the vehicle to a complete stop Dolly’s climactic ‘signature’ accident bookends the episode. While in congested, high-volume traffic, Dolly deliberately initiates a collision between a tractor trailer driving behind her and a truck braking in front of her by suddenly merging into the opposite lane. The resultant crash spirals into a 35 car pileup. A mangled Dolly is ejected from her seat and flung into the median before waking up in a new, identical body. A disheveled, sweat-covered Dr. Oku congratulates her on gathering important data. **Associated Event:** On 2024/1/16, one week from the episode’s premiere, a collision occurred on a congested stretch of I-76 as a result of a 2019 Toyota Yaris[[footnote]]Dolly’s chosen car in the episode[[/footnote]] weaving out of a lane occupied by two tractor trailers. Further investigation found the accident occurred at the indicated mile markers depicted in the episode. 8 fatalities, including the Yaris’ driver, were recorded. [[/div]] [[div class="blockquote"]] **Episode title:** //Crash Test Residential Area!// **Synopsis:** Dolly visits a suburban neighborhood within Long Beach, California, citing residential areas as “goldmines” for potential accidents. Dolly engages in various forms of reckless driving, informing the observing remote data-collection personnel about commonly overlooked hazards in suburban areas. These include: * Driving the opposite direction * Driving in the middle of the road * Getting out of the vehicle and deliberately altering traffic signs * Intentionally hitting pedestrians using crosswalks At the facility, Dr. Oku is suddenly taken out of her haze, shocked that Dolly intentionally hit a pedestrian. But Dolly, still driving, informs her that over 8000 pedestrians were killed by motor vehicles in 2022, and that the future of road safety includes everyone affected by traffic accidents. Dr. Oku acquiesces to Dolly’s logic, and thanks her for thinking of pedestrian safety as well. The episode ends with the observation team encouraging Dolly to hit more pedestrians in order to fill blind spots in their data. An exhilarated Dr. Oku faints in her chair as she watches Dolly speed through a //Wal-Mart// parking lot. **Associated Event:** On 2024/5/29, a replication of the episode's 'opposite lane driving' sequence was observed in Long Beach, California, within the same intersection as depicted in the show[[footnote]]The resultant collision hospitalized the perpetrating driver and injured two others. He would later succumb to injuries within hours of the incident.[[/footnote]]. [[/div]] [[div class="blockquote"]] **Episode title:** //Crash Test Drunk Driving!// **Synopsis:** Dolly is modified to process alcohol and simulate drunkenness in order to gather data about the effects of driving while intoxicated. As opposed to instigating accidents, Dolly instead engages in strategies intended to mitigate potential collisions while drunk. These tactics include: * Driving as aggressively as possible in order to indicate to other road-users that you are drunk * Driving as fast as possible in order to minimize the amount of time spent on the road while drunk * Only getting behind the wheel if you are an experienced, proficient drunk driver, and deferring to friends who are better at driving drunk if you are not The episode ends with a late-night highway chase between Dolly and four state police officers. Dolly eventually loses control of her vehicle, leading to a head-on collision in the opposing lane. At the facility, Dr. Oku throws herself to the floor and starts convulsing. When law enforcement approaches the wreckage, they suddenly recognize Dolly’s vehicle as a ‘research vessel’, and sincerely apologize for interfering with her data. Dolly, who has now been reduced to a single arm, gives them a ‘thumbs up'. **Associated Event:** On 2024/3/14, Marcus Harder, an Atlanta resident, was charged with a DUI after purposefully and successfully instigating a State Police vehicle into a chase along the stretch of highway depicted in the episode. Harder ended the chase by attempting to drive into the opposing lane, but instead collided with pursuing law enforcement. Three fatalities, including Harder, resulted. [[/div]] At present, all 13 episodes of Crash Test Dolly! are associated with at least one documented SCP-248-EX event. **Addendum.2.248-EX:** //RAGDOLLS// Initial investigations of SCP-248-EX attempted to verify its status as an anomaly. This was discarded upon a cultural review of the show, where it was discovered that a fringe micro-culture surrounding the apparent occult elements within //Crash Test Dolly!// was developing in certain online spaces. GoI-248-EX (”//RAGDOLLS//”) is a tightly connected, private community of vehicular homicide hobbyists committed to replicating accidents depicted in //Crash Test Dolly!// with as much accuracy as possible. Following significant research, the Foundation has not found any verifiably anomalous elements within SCP-248-EX, GoI-248-EX, or //Crash Test Dolly!//, granting the phenomenon -EX status. GoI-248-EX communicates primarily through encrypted messaging services, ‘recruiting’ new members through public forums (primarily 4chan’s ///x/// imageboard and Twitter) and then vetting them for further initiation into spaces where SCP-248-EX replication is discussed, organized, and carried out. While a chronology of GoI-248-EX (”//RAGDOLLS//”) has yet to be established, the Foundation’s present understanding of the group is that its origins lie within preexisting online vehicular homicide hobbyist spaces, such as GoI-███ (”//ROADKILL COLLECTIVE//”), with GoI-248-EX offshooting during the initial promotional cycle prior to the show's premiere. According to logs reviewed by the Foundation, discussion concerning //Crash Test Dolly!// that originated within GoI-███’s private spaces indirectly influenced discourse within public forums. As GoI-███ was already under the Foundation’s containment purview, the origin of these talking points remained obfuscated. Their core ideas, however, were transmitted publicly and organically, primarily within the form of comedic, tongue-in-cheek internet memes revolving around a larger concept of “Esoteric Dollyism”. As many of the ideas GoI-248-EX engages with have become popular in-jokes within wider fandom spaces, the Foundation has been unable to discern the consensus sincerity of GoI-248-EX’s beliefs. Furthermore, elements of fandom culture have also influenced GoI-248-EX’s conceptual development to an unknown degree, making the group’s actual belief-sets ambiguous and difficult to discern. Research has suggested that even high-ranking members of GoI-248-EX hold its beliefs with simultaneous levels of irony and sincerity. A list of core elements of GoI-248-EX’s supposed ideology has been included below: * //DOLLDRIVE// Studio is a shell company backed by wealthy, unknown benefactors in order to serve the show’s larger occult goals * The show’s reported budget is not reflective of its actual budget, which approaches upwards of a billion dollars when converted to USD * The Dolly character holds metaphysical significance, symbolically representing an aspect of an unknown 'Doll-entity' that exists outside of fictional contexts * //Crash Test Dolly!// is a medium of communication between the Dolly-entity and baseline reality * The show’s focus on accuracy and specificity in its events is a method of delivery for ritualistic instructions * A remix of The Beatles’ “Drive My Car” used in the show’s opening functions as an incantation that strengthens the Dolly entity’s connection to the viewer * Dolly’s one-sided, seemingly aimless, stream-of-consciousness monologues that play over the show’s ending credits contain subtext encouraging the viewers to cause traffic accidents * Dolly’s frequent transference of her consciousness from one body to another is soft disclosure of collision-induced reincarnation as a real phenomenon * The show’s overt correlations between eroticism and car crashes is representative of the Dolly-entity's literal seduction of the viewer * A viewer can “merge” with the Dolly-entity on a metaphysical level through a replication of her actions that results in the viewer’s death * The US Highway System was intentionally designed as a country-sized, symbolic “altar” for ritual sacrifice to the Dolly-entity, and the show’s existence strengthens the interstate’s occult significance by creating acolytes who knowingly carry out its will The Foundation has yet to find validity in any one of these claims. **Addendum.3.248-EX:** Transcribed Communications The following logs have been transcribed from GoI-248-EX's primary group message chat, sourced from the Telegram app. [[div class="blockquote"]] **##67CF44|@loop004:##** thinking about taking the next step and Doing it for the Doll **##67CF44|@loop004:##** not near anywhere in the show tho **##67CF44|@loop004:##** there's a pretty busy intersection near me that would probably make her happy **##D1D45F|@AssTestDolly:##** Have we discussed this actually?
