Subject is to be interviewed and informed they suffered an auditory hallucination. Damage to motor vehicles can be explained as caused by the most common animal in the area. Compensation to fix or replace the vehicle is to be offered. **Description:** Phenomenon affects motor vehicles driven by isolated occupants at speeds between 100-150 km/h (~60-90 mph) between the hours of 10pm and 4am local time on highways in several countries. During travel, subjects report knocking on the driver side door, lasting from two minutes up to three hours. Pattern tends to be slow and measured, though in longer incidents the pattern becomes rapid and loud, as if distressed. Recordings of civilian encounters confirm the presence of this knocking. Attempts to replicate the phenomenon for study have failed. Vehicles display dents and trace residue of blood on the driver’s door. Recovered footage of the vehicle's exterior does not present a clear picture of when this occurs. DNA testing matches that of unresolved missing persons cases in several countries. These cases invariably involve an abandoned vehicle with signs of the phenomenon and the driver's door left open.
