**Special Containment Procedures:** An artificial display replicating the typical day-night cycle has been installed to mask the effects of SCP-8606. This screen has a maximum thermal protection and must not be turned off, damaged or opened under any circumstances. Any degradation must be addressed immediately, using all available resources.

Actions contributing to global warming are to be promoted and even financially supported, with the objective of raising the Earth's average surface temperature to the greatest extent possible.

**Description:** SCP-8606 is a miscalculation in the estimation of the entropy of celestial bodies, resulting in a widespread underestimation of the rate at which entropy increases on a cosmic scale. Rather than projecting the universe's thermal death to occur over the course of several billion years, revised estimates suggest that 99.99% of universal thermal energy will be lost by the year 2017.

Solar extinction is projected to occur in February 2015.

A thermal screen project was proposed and accepted by the O5 Council to conserve as much of the Earth's available heat as possible.
